yoga classes at Lighten Up Yoga are based in the Iyengar Method and include asanas (physical postures), pranayama
(breath control), and relaxation.
General
Back Care: Designed to relieve stiffness in the hips, spine and shoulders, improve posture, relieve stress and live well. Also recommended
for students who want or need a progressive approach to the yoga poses. Please
no baggy pants.
Intro & Back Pain Relief: Learn a simple time-tested routine to promote strength & stability. A gentle therapeutic class for people who suffer from back pain or other neuromuscular discomfort.
Private Sessions with Lillah : Invest in your mind, body and soul. Lillah is here to support you in discovering the best yogic practices to meet your personal goals for health. In this one hour digitally recorded session, she will customize yoga to your needs. Whether you practice Power, Vinyasa, Restorative, Ashtanga, Anusara, Iyengar or require Adaptive Therapeutic Yoga Lillah's insight will be a vital contribution to your wellness.
Intro to Yoga : A special 6-week course designed for the complete novice. No need to feel lost, foolish or out of place. Join this class if you have no yoga experience. Ideal for new students or ongoing students who like a slower, more gradual approach to yoga. Learn the basics of posture and breath in the Iyengar method. We will help you explore the wonderful path of yoga.
Yoga for MS and Other Conditions: For everyone who requires a gentle therapeutic sequence of poses. These sequences will stimulate healthy organ function and rest the nervous system. Yoga After 50: A Well-rounded class to keep your body and mind healthy and flexible. Poses in all categories will be practiced and adapted to individual needs. Open to all ages.

Core Strength Yoga: All levels. Each class will include work for the abdominals, back muscles and upper body. The intent will be to build the strength, flexibility, alignment and awareness in the core body to sustain the asanas in our practice and to stay upright and strong in our daily life. This is not an asana class, but should prepare the body's infrastructure for a deeper asana practice. Designed to assist aging bodies in the on-going fight against gravity.
Kundalini Yoga: All levels. Classes are a dynamic blend of postures, pranayam, mantra, music and meditation, which teach you the art of relaxation, self-healing and elevation. Balancing body and mind enables you to experience the clarity and beauty of your soul. No previous experience in yoga is required for you to achieve results with your very first class.
Gentle Kundlaini Yoga: Conscious Elevation for people with back Pain. All levels. Enjoy a simple Kundalini Kriya Set for spinal flexibility that will enhance vitality & clarity of mind.Individual challenges will be accommodated.

Iyengar
Level 1: Learn basic asanas (postures) and pranayama (breath regulation).Good choice for new students or those new to the Iyengar Method.
Iyengar Level 1 and 2: is a more challenging class for
students with some experience and those new to the Iyengar method. Build strength as well as
flexibility. Includes a range of standing postures, twists, chest openers,
and simple inversions.
Iyengar Level 2 and 3: is recommended for people with an
average of six months yoga class
experience. All categories of asanas
including headstands, shoulder stands, backbends and pranayama will be
practiced. Progressions will be offered depending on a students experience
and ability.

stretch away the week's stress, and then go out on the town! Start off
a relaxed and energized weekend with Friday night yoga. Level 1 and 2.
