Women of all ages and backgrounds say this seminar is like putting on a new pair of glasses and seeing men for the first time.

Of course men and women are different from each other! But HOW different? And how can this knowledge help you immediately in your relationships with the men in your life, whether you live with a man, work with a man, you’re looking for a man or raising a man. This seminar offers ways to repair relationships efficiently, involves humor (thank goodness!), and respects both men and women.

- What is the biggest mistake men and women make with each other?
- How to speak to be heard, get cooperation, and get what you need in a relationship. Make your life easier. Make his life easier.
- What if nothing is wrong, nobody needs to be fixed? We’re just different.
- What do men need from women? What do women need from men?
- How do you get men to share more, reveal more?
- What’s important to men and how does this naturally support women?
- Have a glimpse of your dream relationship, whether that means improving the one you have, or attracting a new one.

12:00-2:00 – Purna Yoga Flow – Sweat and Glow - The beauty of the Purna Yoga Power Series is the smooth, flowing movements coordinated with the breath with a thoughtfully arranged set of poses designed to cultivate external strength and internal power. The Series will require intense focus and a willingness to grow and change. The Series will help remove blockages both internally and externally. Prepare to work deeply and rest deeply afterwards. All Levels
2:30-5:30 – Understanding Inversions - Inversions give us an opportunity to reverse the aging process as well as allow us to get a reversed perspective, both physically and psychologically. Inversions soothe the nervous system. They gather the power of the legs and pelvis and offer that power to the heart, the home of love and wisdom. They create internal strength and longevity; however, they must be done with a focused alignment and an understanding of the correct muscles so that there is no long-term injury. Learn the foundations of Shirshasana and Sarvangasana, which will benefit your inversion practice for the rest of your life.
All Levels- suggested at least 3 months asana experience
7:00-8:30 – Yoga of Relationships in Purna Yoga -
Our life becomes harmonious when there is a feeling of connection and peace in our relationships. Indeed, all of life is nothing more than the building of our relationship with our own Self, with the people that we surround ourselves with, and with the context in which we are placed – our homes, our cities, and our earth

Aadil will discuss how Yoga teaches us to bring harmony and fulfillment into these areas of our lives. Understanding the philosophy of Purna Yoga is essential to building and maintaining these three critical relationships.

Saturday 3/23
10:30-1:30 – Detox and Recharge with Twists and Backbends -
Twists increase the gastric fire, and detoxify the digestive system, thereby improving digestion. Additionally, twists release the tiny inter-vertebral muscles along the spine, freeing it for backbends. When done correctly, backbends bring joy and strength, focus and power. Learn how to do beginning backbends safely, with alignment and strength, so that as you move deeper into the practice of backbends and recharge your spine, you can enjoy the benefits without injury.

3:00-6:00- Yoga Nidra

The mind, body and emotions are most effectively brought to rest in the still depths of consciousness when Shavasana is done progressively and systematically. Purna Yoga Nidra is unique among all the Yoga Nidras in that you focus on and create powerful internal connections to Spirit to help manifest your dreams.
All Levels (if you have a cough or a cold please do not attend this workshop because any movement will disturb others)

9:00-12:00- Depressurizing High Blood Pressure
- In Purna Yoga™ there are two types of High Blood Pressure, one pent up and the other externally obvious. These have to be treated differently. You will learn asana techniques, Ayurvedic and Chinese nutritional miracles, and the basics of Purna Yoga Meditation to help deal with and reverse your hypertension.

Lighten Up's Transition Celebration
April 13, 2013

Saturday 2 - 4 pm

Everyone is invited! Bring a Friend!  At 60 Biltmore Ave above City Bakery.

Come celebrate Lighten Up's Transition Celebration for a multimedia open house.
Join us as we celebrate the healing space that our 60 Biltmore Ave location has offered for so many years. Lighten Up opened its doors in the current location above City Bakery in 1987, when most of the buildings on Biltmore Avenue were vacant or boarded up, with the exception of the Hot Dog King and the Jr. League’s Next to New clothing store.
 
Now we are opening a new chapter as Lighten Up will become part of One Center Yoga and will be moving over to a newly renovated space at 120 Coxe Ave, with Cindy Dollar as director. In case you missed the last newsletter, all teachers, myself, class schedule, and class series will continue at the new location.
 
Drop in anytime between 2 and 4 pm for refreshments, music, a multimedia presentation of Lighten Up's history, in the news, on DVD, as Yoga Dance, and the release of Lillah's long awaited home practice book on Healing Our Backs with Yoga.
